Train Journey
The train arriving at Platform 3
Describe a train journey you undertook. The sights, sounds and experiences. Your observations and reflections during the journey. Maximum 30 lines.
Sample:-
Morning Shuttle
Crammed like a special variety sardine
in a carriage from Birmingham to London,
the eerie rush through darkened tunnels
emerging self-pickled into tubular sunlight.
My body twitches and lunges forward
while trees and houses whistle backwards,
a feeling of deja vu on a country canvas
with old windmills waving me along.
I breathe in the air of strange faces
hidden behind newspapers and shiny laptops,
a mobile phone rings behind my head
throttling my thoughts with unrelenting static.
