Prizes
Several poetry prizes are awarded annually in the United Kingdom. Some are for the various poetry competitions held throughout the year and others are for full poetry collections issued by poetry publishers.
Regular entry to poetry competitions is a good way to improve your skill and broaden your poetic horizons. It might also inspire you to create a portfolio of poems which will form the basis of your first full collection.
